WARC Rally Australia 2011 - Razvan Vlad

Following the recent performance of the Variety Youth Choir (VYC) at the 2011 Quit Targa West Gala Dinner, Razvan Vlad, driver of MAXYrally's car #20, was moved by their performance, as were many others who voiced their praise of the show.

Razvan contacted Team Green Motorsport, sponsored by Killarnée, via email saying;

"I watched the video of your choir performance at the shopping centre last night and it was a very emotional thing for me - I don't know why, but it really did strike a chord!" - View Performance Razvan, owner of MAXYrally, went on to present the chance of a lifetime for two people involved in the VYC, saying that he was unsure that his offer of spending a week with his racing team in Coffs Harbour at the World Australian Racing Championship (WARC), all expenses paid, would be of interest to anyone involved in the Choir. As Razvan was realising his own dream of competing in the WARC he in return just hoped "to make someone happy."

Mitchell Thompson was a recipient for many years of Variety WA's 'Brian Treasure Scholarship Award' for singing, he is currently a member of the Variety Youth Choir and he has always been fanatical about car racing, requested that Razvan consider him and a carer to fill the places. His request was accepted and a delighted Mitch had five days to prepare for his trip.

This was all brought about by another successful Choir performance, showcasing Variety WA, The Children's Charity. For Variety WA, the VYC is unique as it is the only one of its kind. The VYC is an extension of Variety WA's belief in assisting many WA kids realising their dreams by supporting initially the concept and then the ongoing support of the Variety Youth Choir; which has been sponsored by Killarnée Civil & Concrete Contractors since 2004.

Razvan, you certainly made a young someone very happy. Mission accomplished, thank you and your just rewards - 1st place in class 8 and regaining 1st place title in the 2WD Australian Rally Championships.

Team Green Motorsport Killarnee Targa South West 2010 Report

The initial running of Killarnee Targa South West 2010 turned out to be a fantastic, fun event had by all competitors & crew. For Team Green Motorsport the event had a story of 2 halves with the HSV of Keenan Haigh & Ryan Burnell finishing their first ever rally great result for them and gives them confidence heading into Targa West Well done guys.

For the Porsche 911 RS Thompson/Thompson car the debut wasn’t a success with the crank case splitting at the end of the 4th stage putting a premature end to the rally. Up to that point Paul had the car flying and setting some good times. The failure gives the Porsche guys something to work towards for Targa West.

All in all from the Teams point of view the event was a great success and we would like to thank K-TEC Motorsport for all their help over the weekend. The guys & girls did an amazing job and your efforts are appreciated. Thanks to Killarnee for an awesome event and your support of the team & thank you to Thinkin' IT who provide us with a great site and for their help getting us to the event. We couldn’t do it without you all!!
